Chip & PIN
EMV refers to Europay, MasterCard and VISA and is a global standard for authenticating integrated circuit, or chip, card transactions, including those made with a prepaid card. Today, more than 1.2 billion payment cards in 86 countries come with EMV. The use of an EMV enabled card requires that the user enter a PIN into a terminal, adding an extra layer of security.
SelectCore was one of the first in North America to launch a prepaid EMV program. We were quick to identify the considerable advantages, enhanced security, consistency in the point-of-sale experience, and the potential for added functions. We offer complete EMV functionality in our cards.
